Portrait Commissions

Portraiture is an important part of Kristie’s practice as she works with exploring characters and costume. 

Kristie takes on commissions for portraits of both children and adults. For commissioned oil paintings Kristie prefers to meet in person. She photographs her subjects over 1 or 2 sittings and discusses the preferences of their portrait. Portraits may also use a combination of your own photos.

Heirloom objects and favourite natural surroundings can enrich the portraits as Kristie adds that painterly touch around the figures. 

Oil Portraits take 2 - 6 months depending on the canvas size and availability. 

Oil portraits start at $700 for a classic face and shoulders on a canvas of size around 450mm x 600mm.

Double oil portraits start at $1500 of a size around 700 x 700mm.

Heirloom Portraits with full figure and or heirloom objects, symbols and detailed background start around $2000 depending on the details and how many figures, for a size around 900mm x 1200mm.

WORKS ON PAPER

Graphite and/ or Watercolour portraits on Watercolour  paper can be commissioned without a sitting using the clients own photographs. Works on paper take 2 - 4 weeks depending on availability. (Keep in mind that works on paper will need to be framed.)
